GROUP SHOW
WE SPEAK 2.0
GASTROBAR CULTURA
TASHKENT, SHARAF RASHIDOV AV., 40

2 APRIL 2026 - 2 MAY 2026
A few months ago, five artists from Uzbekistan and Russia presented an exhibition titled «WE SPEAK» in Samarkand. There was no predefined theme, no external selection — each artist chose what they wanted to speak about.
The hypothesis was simple: if individualists are given complete freedom, their works will naturally gather around universal themes. That’s exactly what happened. Five directions emerged: Identity, Community, Conflict, Myth-making, and Space. Five themes — like five ways of finding one another. This is how people communicate when they first meet: they try different approaches, search for common ground, collide, drift apart, and come closer again.
But something unexpected also happened. The process of working together changed the participants themselves. Individualists who never intended to form a group realized that they had become one.

«WE SPEAK 2.0» is the second stage of this experiment. Out of the five themes, two remain: Identity and Community. Not because the others are exhausted, but because this is how connection works. When people truly get to know each other, everything comes down to the essential questions: who am I, and who are we?
For this exhibition, we deliberately chose not a gallery, but a gastrobar. Cultura is a place where “I” and “we” meet every evening: people arrive alone, temporarily become a “we” — at the bar, during a talk, at neighboring tables — and then part ways again.
This exhibition does not simply hang on the walls. It names what is already happening here
Welcome!

ROMA SOYEROV
Contemporary interdisciplinary artist

Roma Soyerov (born in 1993 in Moscow, Russia) currently lives and works in Tashkent. His professional background shapes his distinct architectural approach to how viewers perceive his works. The artist works across different media and techniques, but what unites his paintings, installations and sculptures is a continuous search for balance between the architecture of form and the element of chance, between the author’s intention and the viewer’s interpretation.

SITORA BREJNEVA

Sitora Brezhneva (born in 1984 in Bukhara, Uzbekistan) currently lives and works in Tashkent. She is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher working at the intersection of contemporary art, cultural inquiry, and visual storytelling.
