“I work with oil, acrylic, and textured materials, but my main tool is imagination — the ability to turn inner images into visual stories. My characters may look like people or animals, but in truth they are reflections of inner states and different facets of personality.
Although every story on the canvas begins with personal experience, I believe that many of these states are familiar to the viewer — and therefore recognizable. My debut series, for example, explored the theme of growing up and overcoming personal fears. I think it resonated strongly because people recognized themselves and their own stories.
This matters deeply to me — I believe art reminds us that we are not alone in our feelings and experiences, and in this way it becomes another language of communication”
